We clean all types of dresses, from high-end bespoke pieces to ready to wear garments, these can include:

+ What dress fabrics do you have the most experience with?

Dresses come in shapes and fabrics, sometimes combined together for a unique design. We have experience with dry cleaning a whole range of fabrics which include, but are not limited to, the following. + My wedding dress has a lot of details, such as beads and sequins, can you still dry clean my dress?

Yes, many of the dresses we dry clean include handcrafted wedding dresses with detailed embroidery, sequins, beads and bows.

+ My dress has yellowing and staining, can you fix it?

Our dry cleaning partner team have over 30 years of experience cleaning all types of dresses with staining and yellowing. While the majority of staining will come out with the right treatment and care it's important to remember that not all dress fabrics react well to intensive cleaning. If your dress requires further treatment which could affect the fabric, our team will advise you and seek approval before proceeding.

+ My dress is ripped and torn, are you able to fix it?

Yes, we can. Additional repairs can be selected at check-out.

+ Do you provide dress preservation services in addition to the dry cleaning service?

Yes, we do. We have a range of speicalist stain treatment and wedding dress preservation boxing designed to protect and prolong your wedding dress. Please select which wedding dress preservation options at checkout and we'll handle the rest.

Dress Dry Cleaning - Process

+ How does the ordering process work?

  1. Fill out our dress dry cleaning questionnaire.
  2. You'll receive an email with your wedding dress dry cleaning estimate
  3. A delivery driver will collect your dress
  4. We go through a thorough cleaning process, detailed in the following question
  5. We deliver your dress back to you on a day that suits you

+ What cleaning process is used to preserve my dress?

  1. Once we have received your dress our team will compare the estimate with the dress and make any necessary updates.
  2. If there are no updates required, or once the updates have been approved by you, we begin the clean.
  3. We will carefully spot test the dress fabric and embellishments to ensure the right chemical detergent is used during the clean.
  4. Spot cleaning by hand will remove any tough marks or stains that require special attention
  5. Dresses are then either hand cleaned or put through a dry cleaning machine on their own using a delicate clean cycle
  6. The dress may go through 2-3 cleaning cycles depending on the depending on the delicacy of the dress and the amount of cleaning required
  7. A secondary spot check will take place as marks and stains can show up during a hand wash or dry clean cycle
  8. Once clean, the dress will be steamed and pressed
  9. A final garment check will occur
  10. The dress is neatly laid in a storage bag or preservation box ready for delivery

+ How long does it take to clean my dress?

Wedding dress dry cleaning can vary from 2-3 weeks for simple wedding dress designs and materials, up to 3-5 weeks for wedding dresses with more delicate detailing and embellishments. A large component of our dress dry cleaning, in particular, the spot cleaning and pressing, is completed by hand which can increase the clean time. Allow a few extra days for collection and delivery also.

+ Do you offer insurance on my dress in the event something goes wrong?

To date, no incidents have ever occurred. In the extremely unlikely event that your dress is damaged, the dry cleaning team we work with are fully insured to cover dress damages or loss.

+ How much do you charge to dry clean a dress?

Due to the wide variety of dress designs, all dry cleaning prices are finalised on inspection by our team. + When will my credit card be charged?

Once we have sent you your quote and you have booked your dress collection, we will email you a link to select your purchase options, enter your credit card details and confirm payment. At this point, your credit card will be charged.

If there are any variations between the dress and the estimate quote provided once we receive the dress we will contact you and advise you of the changes. Any additional charges will be processed once we have received your written confirmation to proceed.

+ Do you store my credit card details?

For your assurance, Pierre Anselmi - The Dress Cleaner does not store any of your credit card details. We use Stripe, a global payment processor who handle billions of dollars of transactions per year.

Located in Auckland, we work with a range of dry cleaning partners throughout New Zealand which allow us to offer a Nationwide service in all the main suburban and rural towns. We are the only dress dry cleaner to do so.
